Founded in 2004 by Joe Still, the company was born from a simple idea that clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers should be treated as partners, not transactions. In 2024, JS Building transitioned to employee ownership, ensuring the same values Joe instilled continue to guide us today.

JS Building Co. was founded in 2004 by Joe Still with a simple but uncompromising goal: build projects the right way and treat people fairly along the way. What began as a small, locally focused construction company in Downtown Huntsville, Alabama grew quickly through repeat clients and a reputation for doing exactly what we say we’re going to do.

From the start, our approach has been hands-on and collaborative. We believe the best outcomes come from being involved early, asking the right questions, and working closely with owners, architects, and engineers to identify challenges before they turn into delays or cost overruns. That mindset shaped who we are as a company and continues to guide how we operate today.

Over the past two decades, JS Building Co. has delivered a wide range of projects across North Alabama and the surrounding region, including commercial offices, mixed-use developments, adaptive reuse, healthcare facilities, and community-focused projects. Our experience across diverse project types allows us to bring practical insight, flexibility, and accountability to every build.
