The owners of the iconic, century-old Martin Stove Factory in Westside Huntsville selected JS Building Co. to undertake the renovation and construction of the city’s newest entertainment/commercial/retail site. Still in progress, Stovehouse is being transformed into a 100,000 square foot village of eclectic restaurants, gourmet cocktail & coffee bars, event & entertainment spaces, boutique shopping, offices, and more.

The first phases encompassing 20,000 square feet included completion of office shell space reclaimed from old warehousing, new storefront openings, egress for future tenants, and structural upgrades throughout to bring spaces up to current code.

Next came the conversion of 30,000 square feet of an old warehouse to tenant spaces for seven new restaurants including back-of-house food storage and maintenance areas, new public restrooms, and publicly shared seating areas for the restaurants and for future office tenant spaces.

Opened to the public in June 2019, JS Building Co. completed the third phase of construction to include a 1,300 square foot wine bar with a rooftop patio and a new courtyard area for visiting guests. The expanded courtyard includes fire pit seating, a custom foot-pool table, bocce ball courts, yard swings, and a new stage for musical and performing acts. New parking and landscaping were also added.

At the same time, JS Building Co. completed new guest entry areas by demolishing then rebuilding the structure’s west side. Features include new guest walkways, an interior landscaped courtyard, new water features, and a games area.

Construction continues on 40,000 square feet of office space, new parking areas, and another interior courtyard.
